Bio

General Bryan D. Brown was the first member of the Army Aviation branch to attain the rank of four-star general. He enlisted in the Army in 1967 and completed the Special Forces Qualification Course. He was commissioned in 1970 and earned his rotary-wing aviation certification.

He served in numerous combat operations to include Vietnam, Grenada, Kuwait and Iraq and was a "plank holder" in the first special operations aviation unit, Task Force 160. He later commanded the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Joint Special Operations Command, United States Army Special Operations Command and United States Special Operations Command.

He was instrumental in the continuous development and fielding of Army Special Operations Aviation assets to support Special Operations Forces worldwide. He commanded Special Operations Forces around the globe in the post-9/11 War on Terrorism.
