Private First Class John M. Price of Conover, Wisconsin, was killed on 20 December 1989 while supporting Operation JUST CAUSE in Panama.

After enlisting in the Army in 1988, PFC Price completed Infantry One Station Unit Training, Airborne School, and the Ranger Indoctrination Program, all at Fort Benning, Georgia. Following training, he was assigned to Company A, 2nd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment, at Fort Lewis, Washington.

PFC Price participated in the Ranger Regiment’s daring nighttime airborne infiltration into Panama and died of wounds received on the initial night of the operation. He serving as an Automatic Rifleman with Company A, 3rd Ranger Battalion at the time of his death.
