MSG Otto F. Clark

Master Sergeant Otto F. Clark of Corinth, New York, died 21 February 1991 while supporting Operation DESERT STORM.
MSG Clark enlisted in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman in 1976 and was initially assigned to the 172nd Infantry Brigade at Fort Richardson, Alaska. He later served in the 504th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. In 1980, he volunteered for an elite special operations unit at Fort Bragg. During this period, he completed Special Forces Military Freefall training, Military Freefall Jumpmaster training, the Special Forces Qualification Course, and the Special Forces Operations and Intelligence Course. He also participated in Operation URGENT FURY (Grenada) and Operation JUST CAUSE (Panama).
On 21 February 1991, MSG Clark, a Medical Noncommissioned Officer, was rendering lifesaving aid to a badly injured fellow soldier when the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter he was onboard crashed in a sandstorm in northwestern Saudi Arabia. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, U.S. Army Special Forces Command, at the time of his death.
