A native of Macon, Georgia, Major Wallace C. Hogan, Jr. died as a result of the terrorist attack on the Pentagon on 11 September 2001.
On graduating from Valdosta State College, Hogan accepted a commission in the Georgia Army National Guard as an Infantry Officer. He served in the 19th and 20th Special Forces Groups before gaining a Regular Army commission in 1993.
MAJ Hogan was serving as a Special Operations staff officer and was the executive officer to the Army’s Chief of Plans and Policies at the time of his death. His office was located near the point of impact of the commandeered American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon.
