LTC Charles H. Buehring

A resident of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Lieutenant Colonel Charles H. Buehring was killed on 26 October 2003 in a rocket-propelled grenade attack on the Al Rasheed Hotel in Baghdad, Iraq.
Buehring was commissioned in the Army as an Infantry Officer on graduation from The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina in 1985. After a tour of duty with the 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York, he volunteered for Special Forces and served with the 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He also was assigned to the 4th Psychological Operations Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
LTC Buehring was serving as the Chief of the Military Information Support Team, U.S. Army Central Command (Forward), Fort MacPherson, Georgia, supporting Operation IRAQI FREEDOM at the time of his death.
