A native of New York, Private First Class Charles E. Bush, Jr. was killed on 19 December 2003 in a vehicle accident near the town of Balad, Iraq.
Bush enlisted in the Army as a Food Service Specialist in 1990 and completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia. He later joined the U.S. Army Reserve and trained as a Petroleum Supply Specialist in the 277th Quartermaster Company, Niagara Falls, New York.
PFC Bush was later assigned as a Food Service Specialist in 402nd Civil Affairs Battalion, 345th Civil Affairs Brigade, Tonawanda, New York. He was supporting Operation IRAQI FREEDOM at the time of his death.
