A native of Richmond Hill, Georgia, Captain Jeremy A. Chandler died 11 August 2005, when he was preparing for combat operations near Tarin Khowt, Afghanistan, during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

On graduating from North Georgia College, Chandler was commissioned as an Infantry Officer.

CPT Chandler graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course in 2003 and was assigned as a Detachment Commander to 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he served until his death.
