SGT Jason T. Palmerton

A native of Hamburg, Iowa, Sergeant Jason T. Palmerton died 23 July 2005 when his unit was ambushed near Qal’eh-Ye Gaz, Afghanistan.

Palmerton enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman in July 2002 and completed his Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. He graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course in 2004.

SGT Palmerton was assigned as a Communications Sergeant to 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, when he died in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
