A resident of North Bend, Oregon, Sergeant First Class Adrian M. Elizalde died on 23 August 2007 in Baghdad, Iraq.
Elizalde enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman in 1996 and served in several assignments in the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. In 2005, he graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
SFC Elizalde was assigned as an Engineer Sergeant to 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, Fort Lewis, Washington, when he was fatally wounded by an improvised explosive device during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
