SSG Robert R. Pirelli

A native of Franklin, Massachusetts, Staff Sergeant Robert R. Pirelli died on 15 August 2007 during combat operations in the Diyala Province, Iraq.

In 2003, Pirelli enlisted in the Army as a Special Forces Candidate. In 2005 he graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

SSG Pirelli was assigned as an Engineer Sergeant to 3rd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group, Fort Carson, Colorado, when he died of wounds sustained from enemy small arms fire while supporting Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
