SPC Christopher Gathercole

A native of Santa Rosa, California, Specialist Christopher Gathercole died 26 May 2008 in Ghazni, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered during a combat operation.

Gathercole enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman in October 2005. After graduating from the Basic Airborne Course and the Ranger Indoctrination Program, Fort Benning, Georgia, he was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Lewis, Washington.

SPC Gathercole was serving as a machine gunner in 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, when he was killed while supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
