SSG Joshua M. Mills

A native of El Paso, Texas, Staff Sergeant Joshua M. Mills was killed on 16 September 2009 in Ghur Ghuri, Afghanistan, by an improvised explosive device.

Mills enlisted in the Army in 2005 as a Special Forces Candidate and attended Infantry One Station Unit Training, and the Basic Airborne Course at Fort Benning, Georgia. He graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

SSG Mills was serving as a Communications Sergeant with 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group when he was killed while supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
