A longtime resident of Laurel, Delaware, Sergeant Andrew J. Creighton died on 4 July 2010 while conducting operations in Oruzgan Province, Afghanistan.

Creighton enlisted in the Army as a Cryptologic Linguist in 2003 and graduated from the Korean Basic Course, Defense Language Institute, Monterey, California. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, Fort Lewis, Washington, and served in Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM-PHILIPPINES.

SGT Creighton was with 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group when he was killed while supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
