A native of San Antonio, Texas, Sergeant First Class Calvin B. Harrison died 29 September 2010, of wounds sustained from enemy small arms fire while his unit was conducting combat operations in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

Harrison enlisted in the Army as a Psychological Operations Specialist in 1998. After completing his Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training, he was assigned to the 4th Psychological Operations Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

SFC Harrison graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course in 2007 and was assigned as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant to 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he served until his death.
