CPT Jason E. Holbrook

A native of Burnet, Texas, Captain Jason E. Holbrook died of wounds sustained from the detonation of an improvised explosive device while conducting a combat patrol in Tsagay, Afghanistan, on 29 July 2010 in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
On graduating from the United States Military Academy, Holbrook accepted a commission in the Army as an Infantry Officer. He served in 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry Regiment at Fort Richardson, Alaska, before attending the Special Forces Qualification Course at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
CPT Holbrook graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course in April 2010 and was serving as a Detachment Commander in 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, at the time of his death.
