A native of San Diego, California, Sergeant First Class Kristoffer B. Domeij died 22 October 2011, of wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device while his unit was conducting combat operations in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

Domeij enlisted in the Army as an Artillery Forward Observer in July 2001. He served for ten years with 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

SFC Domeij graduated from the Ranger Indoctrination Program in 2002 and was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. He was serving as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller at the time of his death.
