A native of Watertown, Connecticut, Sergeant First Class Dae H. Park died 12 March 2011, of wounds sustained from the detonation of an improvised explosive device while his unit was conducting combat operations in Wardak Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

Park enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman in February 1998. After completing his Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, he was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

SFC Park graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course in 2006 and was assigned as a Special Forces Communications Sergeant to 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, where he served until his death.
