A native of Quarryville, Pennsylvania, Staff Sergeant Patrick H. Quinn died 13 October 2013, of wounds sustained from enemy small arms fire while his unit was conducting combat operations in Paktika Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

Quinn enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman in July 2006. After completing his Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, he was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

SSG Quinn graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course in 2013 and was assigned as a Special Forces Engineer Sergeant to 3rd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group, Fort Carson, Colorado, where he served until his death.
