CPT Jason B. Jones

A native of Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania, Captain Jason B. Jones died of wounds sustained from small-arms fire while conducting combat operations in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, on 2 June 2014 in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

On graduating from the United States Military Academy, Jones accepted a commission in the Army as an Infantry Officer. He served in 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

CPT Jones graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course in May 2013 and was serving as a Detachment Commander in 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, at the time of his death.
