A native of Spearman, Texas, Sergeant Cameron A. Meddock died 17 January 2019 from injuries sustained by enemy small arms fire on 12 January in Jawand District, Badghis Province, Afghanistan.

Meddock enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman in November 2014. After completing Infantry One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, and the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program in 2015, he was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Following a deployment to Operation FREEDOM’S SENTINEL, he graduated from Ranger School in 2017.

SGT Meddock was a fire team leader with 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, supporting Operation FREEDOM’S SENTINEL at the time of his death.
